Trent R Nelson

Attorney Trent R. Nelson joined the firm in May of 2016.  Before joining KLFGN, Nelson had over nine years of experience primarily in the areas of general business, corporate, real estate and contract law. 

Graduating “cum laude” in 2006 from Marquette University Law School, Nelson began his career with a large Wisconsin-based law firm’s Manitowoc office. He then moved into an in-house legal role at Kohler Co.

Attorney Nelson most recently worked as the General Counsel at Forefront Dermatology. In this role, he managed all legal functions of the practice’s clinical operations and growth.  Nelson also coordinated all legal aspects of Forefront’s explosive growth from approximately 29 clinic locations with 40 providers in the state of Wisconsin when he joined into the largest dermatology practices in the United States, with a footprint of 85 clinics and over 135 providers in 11 states at the time he left. 

Nelson continues to provide general corporate and transactional legal services, as well as advising clients in real estate, estate planning and other practice areas as his client’s require from time to time.

Trent is also active in the community including being a member of the Board of Directors of Branch Area Recreational Association, a former Board Member of CORE Treatment Services, Inc., a founding member of the Linda Dworak Memorial Golf Outing benefiting local cancer survivors, and a former member of the Board of Directors of the Manitowoc-Two Rivers YMCA and Habitat for Humanity. Attorney Nelson also gives significant time to coaching various youth sports in Manitowoc County including as a softball coach for the Branch Baseball and Softball Organization and as a basketball (and formerly soccer and volleyball) coach at Immanuel Lutheran School.

Attorney Nelson was born and raised in Manitowoc County and currently resides in the Town of Manitowoc with his wife and two daughters.  When not practicing, he enjoys spending time with family and dogs, the outdoors, time up north, four-wheeling, hunting and fishing.
